Round round part 3 - My DIY Juju inspired mirror

I was totally inspired by the apartment with the painted white floorboards (I posted yesterday) I couldn't stop thinking about the last photo with the juju inspired mirror - so I decided to make some juju inspired mirrors myself using fabric instead of feathers. The mirrored juju is easy to make and can be done using any fabric - for these creations I used hessian and a sheer white fabric - I would love to make a hot pink tulle one for my study, oh and maybe a black one and a grey one too. If you are keen to give it a go yourself I will post some DIY instructions tomorrow.

The look of the mirror reminds me of a dahlia flower + juju hat + starburst mirror.

Here is the white one I created - on the wall in our master bedroom

I love the arrangement of a few Juju together like the photo below.

Painted white floorboards + colour = me happy

White floorboards mixed with the right amount of colour. Via desiretoinspire

How awesome is the image above? A tulle juju inspired hat and an upside down lampshade? Ohhhh I am feeling very inspired to turn a few lampshades upside down.

Melbourne Myer & Samantha the celebrity stalker

My first affiliation with the blogging world was daily readings of the infamous celebrity reporter Perezhilton.com. Last week when shopping with my mother and sister in Melbourne I was awe struck running into Miss universe Jennifer Hawkins coming out of the bathroom, I then turned into a giddy schoolgirl and borderline celebrity stalker when I realised there was a press pack and some type of commotion to mark the official opening of the Melbourne Myer store.

From left to right the people in the below photo Samantha Swain, Jessica Hart, Andrej Pejic, Jennifer Hawkins....Okay I might just be browsing Myer - but I am in that photo, accidentally on purpose.....

And in case you needed more evidence - here are some I snapped with my handbag camera.

The new Melbourne Myer store is amazing, I think seven or eight levels of men's, woman's and home wares are all in one store. The new store is one million times better than the old one - you know what I mean if you ever went to the old store it was a shambles.

Found a black velvet chair

 An innovative scaffolding table solution

 Amazing floral displays

And another display - Inspired by my favourite anthropologie lamp perhaps?.

Monica's apartment from Friends

Do you remember Monica's apartment from the television show Friends? I have been watching a few old episodes lately. The decor was wonderfully eclectic, purple walls, mismatched dining room chairs, gallery walls, the framed peep hole on the door, oh and who can forget "the Rachel hair".

Monica has a rams head chair too - at the desk in front of the window

I found this wonderful eclectic design that translates the use of bright colours very similar to Monica's apartment Via: Here

If you were thinking of adding a frame to your peep hole, I found this  beautiful lemon yellow one Via Ada and darcy .

Round round baby, round round (part 2)

Probably not the best idea to try and cure a round mirror obsession by shopping for a few more "Round round babies". I think we need to petition that ZGallerie delivers to Australia - everything in the store needs to be in my house pronto!.

Round round baby, round round

Sorry for the lack of posts over the week....I have been shopping up a storm in Melbourne with my mum & sister.

I took these photos before I left of the bits and pieces collected from the markets last Saturday - here they are around the house.

Round round baby - This mirror has been moved above the dining room buffet (from its previous home in the powder room). Loving the look of round mirrors at the moment, I followed the advise from the many beautiful comments received in favour of the round mirror option for the design board I created for a friends master bedroom.
Silver tray is now a bar tray - my favourite drink is gin and tonic and my husbands is....Malibu & pineapple.

The silver rams head chair is "back in blue" and is sitting under the stunning Sketch 42 painting.

 Brass and glass....

The set of books is sitting on a shelf in the lounge. The frame is a gift I gave the hubs for our 1st wedding anniversary (It is a saying that we made up).

I hope you have a beautiful weekend, I will be spending mine baking and catching up on all of your blogs.
