Friday Flowers
I picked these up from my Local Fruit Shop the other day. Some beautiful Flowers to brighten up the Dining Room, placed them in a Fruit Bowl.
Taubmans Website
So I have been thinking of my weekend plans and painting possibility's of finding time to paint the Laundry & or master bedroom...
Whilst looking for paint I happened upon the Taubmans website. They actually have a "Room designer" where you can select rooms from "The Block Australia 2010", after you have selected a room you can change any of the paint colours (you can also find out all of the paint selections that each couple has used).
This is what I have come Up with:

The Block- Week 4 Review
The contestants were asked to complete the Master bedrooms for their apartments. Brenton & Chez took out the first place prize this week. I am not sure if I totally agree, see my personal thoughts below.
If you are interested in checking out the full images of the rooms please head over to the channel Nine Block Galleries
MY Number 1. Erin & Jake
Like: the built in wardrobes & the bench seat
Dislike: Trying to match the stripe pattern within the bed base & striped wall, the bed would have been better as a smoke Grey or white colour.
Change: The black and white striped wall is gorgeous, I agree with what one of the judges said that there could have been a mirror placed on the wall to break up the space.
My Number 2: Neisha & John
Like: The colour palette, the headboard is Divine!
Dislike: The wardrobes. A bulkhead above the wardrobes would have tied them into the room better.
Change: I can tell that that is a blue blanket, but to me it looks like my Nana's left her dressing gown on the bed.
My Number 3: Brenton & Chez
Like: The Pendant Light
Dislike: The TV Shelf, as a tall person I know that corner of the shelf would become a problem.
Change: The height of the headboard, it seams too low, as there is no art on the walls a nice high headboard would take away the bare feeling and draw the eye up.
My Number 4: Mark & Duncan
Like: The Art on the wall & the ceiling detail.
Dislike: The White dresser next to the white wardrobe, it Looks like a mish mash/ jumble of furniture. I would have expected more from the joinery as these two are Carpenters.
Change: The colour of the feature wall.
I think they all did a great job & not forget that they only had1 week to complete this room, all round an awesome effort. What do you think? Who should have won?

Master Bedroom
The hardest thing I have found to complete in our house has been our Master Bedroom.
After many years of living with Beige walls, a dark brown Bed & Beige Bedspread & not finding the room calming or inspirational I thought it was time for a change. Like most things in our house it has been slow, slow process and it still very much a work in progress.
I thought i would share some of my inspirations for the room redesign.
I Love this image of These Square white Ikea frames for $49.99 (AU) Image from Decorpad
I think Turquoise creates the right balance between Feminine and Masculine.

We would like to incorporate stripes into the room, so I am thinking chevron to re-cover the lamp shades, How cute is this lamp from Ada & Darcy, $198 (AU) for lamp base.

Black Velvet Chair "Steals & Deals"
So the story behind the “Black Velvet chair” I thought I should fill you in.
As I mentioned the chair was purchased on ebay for a steal at just $67. I have to say, I was shocked to win the auction for such a low price. The seller actually had another chair the same, however decided to keep it.
So the chair stood for 6 months all by itself. After much searching on the web to find an identical chair I got desperate, I contacted the seller of the original black velvet chair on Ebay and asked if she would be interested in selling me the other chair, the reply: “No thanks, my daughter is keeping it in storage”. So deciding what my maximum price would be to pay for the chair I then sent another email…."Would you be interested in $400 for the chair?" And well the rest is history. So the chair that was a great ebay steal turned out to be still a great deal I think. What do you think?
Here they now sit together in our lounge room (sorry about the late night camera shot).

My very first blog post
Hi there, So I suppose I should start with introducing myself, I am Samantha Swain and it is great to meet you, thanks for stopping by, feel free to say Hello.
So i have decided after almost a year of obsessing over a number of amazing home and interiors blogs I would love to create my own.
My love for all things interiors started just after my wedding to my beautiful husband in February 2010. After reading many wedding blogs for wedding inspiration I then followed post wedding with an obsession of Interior design blogs.
Ahhh and then the chair that started it all, in March 2010 after our honeymoon to the South Island of New Zealand I happened to stumble upon the most gorgeous black velvet gold studded chair on Ebay, she was mine for the steal price of $67.
